Columbus OH

The blizzard has passed, and we are digging out. We hunkered down when the snow started on Friday afternoon, and since the show didn't stop falling until Saturday evening, we missed 4 PM mass and stayed inside until this morning.

For once, the weather gurus had understated the case. The official weather station at the airport reported a total snowfall of 20" -- plenty of copy for the media. The city ploughed the street early, piling up the snow in front of our driveway, so there was no way we were going anywhere. Bobbi got on the phone to one of her colleagues, who put her in touch with the man who ploughed his church parking lot. The latter agreed to come out and do our driveway, arriving a little after noon. He cleared the driveway in short order, so Lew cleaned off the van and pulled it into the street and back as a check.

After lunch Bobbi went to the supermarket to replenish our larder -- we had had no chance to do so since we left Florida, and some things were getting pretty low. After she finished, Lew walked the two very reluctant dogs.

So now we are good to go, and Bobbi expects to be in prison tomorrow morning.
