COLD!!! When Lew got up on Thursday (the 16th) at dawn for a potti break, the wind was blowing fiercely (30 mph +) and the temperature must have been down near 50. Lew wore full sweats over a turtleneck just to cross the street to the bathhouse. And when he walked the dogs around 9 am it was still cold enough he wished he had worn a knit cap and a windbreaker.
It was sunny again in that saphire-blue sky, so things heated up fairly rapidly, so forced us to open the Airstream. But it remained chilly, and all the campers were walking around with jackets, hoodies, or some other form of protection. The good news was that the water supply had been fixed and tested OK, so we had an unlimited supply (within the limitations of the pump).
Friday (the 17th) was worse. At dawn it was even colder than yesterday, and the wind just as strong. We wore full sweats all day, even inside the Airstream in the middle of the afternoon, and Lew in addition wore a windbreaker to walk the dogs. "Weather.com" said the high today would "approach" 60, and the low tomorrow morning, 52.
This is the middle of AUGUST -- weather in this little enclave is truly remarkable.
