Lutz, FL

This will be a pro forma entry -- the week has been pretty much routine in Florida for Bobbi and Lew. Smokey has continued to heal -- remarkably well, and we thank God. The weather has been bland -- a little warm today, but compared to Ohio, completely unexciting. We'll take it.

Scott had a little excitement -- his alternator went out, so Lew has ferried him around for the last day or so.

All the real news has been relayed to us by Paul. The weather in Columbus has been dangerously terrible, with plenty of snow and ice (we don't miss it). And the furnace quit working, so he had to make an emergency call for service ($208, but cheaper than Scott's alternator). But that's so far away....

And one evening Paul phoned Bobbi to read to her a letter from her prison, informing her that she was being laid off. But a few phone calls disclosed that this was part of an across-the-board cost-cutting measure on the part of the state, so she has plenty of company. And she is working out away to get around the situation, so this doesn't disturb her a whole lot either.

However...we are feeling a bit triste -- only one more week with Scott's family.
